Rookie Mistake

Basic baking lesson number one:  when adding powdered sugar (or flour) to a stand mixer, DO NOT turn the mixer on full speed.

Sorry (unpictured) floors and (also unpictured) powdered sugar covered me. 





In my defense, I know better.  But, I was holding something in my hand while trying to turn on the mixer and my finger slipped.


I'm not even exaggerating when I say that powdered sugar was everywhere

It's a good thing I can laugh at myself, dust the powdered sugar off my sweater, wipe everything clean and then go on to make some pretty cupcakes.




Next week, we'll tackle how not to set the smoke alarm off when making dinner.
