What's That Saying About Best Laid Plans?

So yesterday I made an executive decision to skip the gym this morning, go to Starbucks for a misto after I dropped Caroline off at school, and pick up a few baking supplies for my soon-to-be-baked birthday cake.  Unless I have a really good excuse, I never just skip the gym; I love Monday Body Pump and try my best to go every week.  However, my throat is still a bit froggy and sore, which I find puzzling.  I suppose if it keeps up, I'll bite the bullet and go to the doctor.  I hate going to the doctor.  I also hate admitting that my body isn't as impervious to sickness as I so often claim.

Anyway, I had big plans.  That is, however, until Caroline came downstairs after I tucked her into bed, claiming she couldn't sleep.  As it turns out, she had a belly ache and then proceeded to toss her cookies.  Thankfully, it was a one time deal, and she felt better almost immediately.  I'm SO glad this was short lived  because I don't do barf.   My vomit phobia is intense and unwavering. Thankfully we're not a barfy family;  otherwise, I might be even more crazy that I already am.   I have no idea what could have caused this incident of unfortunate barfing, but I'm hesitant to think it's a virus because it was so mild and short lived.   Nevertheless, I still have Lysoled everything she touched, washed sheets and blankets and boiled the toothbrushes.

Whatever the case, virus or fluke, Caroline feels fine and is bouncing around like the crazy lunatic she is.  She just finished lunch, which she first requested at 10:30 and then asked for a chocolate.  Um, yeah.  I think she's okay.

I'm bummed my Starbucks plans were foiled, but I made myself a good cup of coffee at home that sort of made up for it.  Caffeine is my friend today.  I slept with Caroline downstairs last night; she was on the big couch; I was on the love seat.  I'm not particularly tall (barely 5'4") but the love seat is a bit small for a full night of sleep.  Sleep for me was fleeting and not very restful, but that's what happens when you're a mom.

We're taking it easy today.  It's a half day of school, so I know the friends will come around shortly.  Even though Caroline is *fine* I'm keeping her quarantined for the day.

Did you feed my granddaughter ranch dressing?!
Maybe she had a touch of the fluke. HAHAHAHAHA!!

Nope no ranch dressing. I know better than that! Yep, it's a touch of the fluke.

She's fine. Bored and ready to play. Odd?

Glad she is feeling better. We have a bug going around my school and my students are dropping like FLIES! I am taking emergen-C like its candy and lysoling everything they touch.

I've been od'ing on Emergen-C too. This is the first time Caroline has been sick in a LONG time. She really is healthy and thankfully whatever she had was really short lived.

Why didn't you put the shorter person on the loveseat? ;)

Elizabeth,
Believe me, I thought of that, but Caroline was already laying on the bigger couch and I didn't want to disturb her. The barfer gets prime couch real estate.
Although, it won't be long before I'll be the shorter one. Can you believe that Caroline is only 9 inches shorter than me?
