Caroline's birthday party is on Saturday. It's a luau party; leis, pineapple, fruit smoothies and all. Because in the middle of January, especially on a day when the high temperature isn't even supposed to reach 30 degrees, you need a little tropical escape. Of course, after hosting a slumber party, I'm going to need an escape. Come Sunday afternoon, I probably won't even care where I escape to, just as long as I have a moment to collect myself
and down a few pina coladas.
Back in June I bought some luau decorations at the dollar store. My mother teased me mercilessly, but that's okay,
You can laugh all you want, but I think I've proven that sometimes being neurotic can be a good thing.
In preparation for the big party, we practiced making tissue paper flowers last night.
I like to do some sort of crafty project to keep the girls entertained.
I know I mentioned earlier that we'll be painting initial letters, but I thought it would be fun to have two projects.
The flowers turned out pretty cute. I didn't pay a super amount of attention to every detail, so they're not perfect, but they are still colorful and fun.
I think the girls will have fun making them, too.
