Who knew running a marathon could be so much fun? My neighbor, a veteran of many marathons, said you'll never forget your first marathon. I think he was right.
We had a blast here at Disney World and we're all sad to be leaving this morning. If only Caroline didn't need to get back to school.....
It's magical here, for sure, but it is time to get back to the daily grind. And vegetables. I've eaten fairly well while we've been here, but my body sure is missing the steady stream of vegetables it's used to getting every day. Caroline, too. She's reached her cheese and carb quota (grilled cheese, cheese pizza, macaroni and cheese) and her syrup quota as well. So many waffles for breakfast!
We miss our pillows, too. Port Orlean's French Quarter pillows are terrible!
Stiff necks aside, it's always hard to go home, especially after spending four days at the happiest place on earth. I suppose what weighs so heavily is that once we get home, Craig will really have to prepare for his move at the end of the month. This marathon weekend served as a great distraction.
Once we get home and I'm reunited with my laptop, I'll share the many pictures I took this weekend.
Until then I think I can sum up this weekend in three words: exhilarating, smoking and sandwiches.
Exhilarating because I ran my first marathon and finished 27 minutes under my goal time; smoking because my credit card is on fire from over use, in fact it'll be smoldering for days to come; sandwiches because I've eaten SO MANY sandwiches this weekend. Talk about carb overload! It's a good thing I like them so much.
FYI: the caprese sandwich from The Earl of Sandwich just might have changed my life.
Anyway, it's almost time for Disney's Magical Express to take us to the
See you on the flip side with photo over load.
