From Meh to Okay

As you can see from the title, today has been a little better than yesterday.  I'm not sure if I'm willing to label today a 'yay' day, but okay is a happy medium.  I'll settle for that.

I've tried, rather fruitlessly, to post my last set of Disney pictures, however, my laptop must have decided to keep the sabbath, because it's not having any part of the picture uploading process today.  Instead of throwing my laptop out the window (I kind of like it and would hate for it to shatter into a million pieces) I'm going to try again tomorrow.  Even laptops need a day off sometimes.

In lieu of my Epcot pictures, which aren't even that great, I'll tell you about my day.

I didn't get out of bed until 8:30 this morning, which is virtually unheard of around here.  I could have slept longer, but I knew that would only throw my day off even further.  At 10, Caroline and I went on a birthday party supply gathering expedition at Michael's.  Our mission was mostly successful, which is always a happy occasion.

I'm sort of on an anti-goodie bag kick lately, so in lieu of a bag of junk the girl's mothers will end up throwing away, we're painting wooden letters that can be brought home and hung on the wall.  We needed a B, an R, an S, a K, two Js and  two As.  Caroline already has a C, so we got a K for her middle initial.  Unfortunately our local Michael's only had one J and no S; and one of the As had seen better days.  Tragic.

After I dropped Caroline off at her soccer skills class, I trekked over to the other Michael's and found the missing J and S and I swapped out the tragic A for a better looking one.  I didn't want any tears over the state of the A.

Since I did not have an alternate goodie bag back up plan, I'm happy to report that our crisis was diverted.
Otherwise, we'd be scrambling for another idea. I'm feeling tapped out in the idea department as of late, so it really is a good thing that we were able to secure all the necessary initials.

Okay, I'd love to babble on longer, but I must retrieve Caroline from the neighbor's house and then it's dinner time.

Tomorrow I shall post my mediocre Epcot pictures.  Yes, tomorrow is the day!

:)

I always feel so bad that we don't have the letters that people need. Sometimes we just have a run on the letters and are out of some! I've even climbed up on ladders and looked in boxes for the necessary letters, and not found them. Sorry you had to go to two places. Did you get the white "pre-primed" ones?

That does sound like a fun project for them to do. I would like that!

Yep, we got the white pre primed letters. I like that they also have the hole in the back to hang them up.

The second Michaels is much nicer and has more inventory, but it's a pain to get to. They had all sorts of different letters, both white and regular wooden varieties. I was going to ask the sales associate at the first store if they had any in the back, but I didn't. Eh, it driving elsewhere wasn't a major tragedy.

I even bought an S for me to paint. I just haven't figured out how I'm going to do it. I think I want something that looks kind of mottled. I have a plain black S in our front entry way; this one I want to look more antiquey.
