Slacker Blogger

So, my mom and her friend are in town and I haven't picked up my camera once.  Nor have I sat down to pen my beautiful, articulate prose.  Ha!  Their visit is short and centered around the wedding of a woman who used to attend their church in Florida, but we've been able to squeeze in a few fun things, too.  Yesterday, despite the chilly temperatures and ominous storm clouds blanketing the gray sky, my mom, Tara and I went into Old Town, Alexandria and walked down its historic streets.  We happened upon the church both George Washington and Robert E. Lee attended and caught the last half of a tour of the sanctuary.  It's a pleasure to live in such a historic area. We ate lunch, browsed in a baby boutique (which sold $48 onesies!) and got caught in a rainstorm as we walked back to the Metro.

Thankfully, we brought our umbrellas.

My mom and Tara wish their thin Florida blood was a bit thicker for this unpredictable spring time Virginia weather, but tomorrow promises to be warmer.

Today was wedding day...and also soccer day for Caroline, so we spent the majority of our day in separate places.  This evening we dined on Asian food and ate boxed brownie mix from Trader Joe's.  Do we know how to live it up, or what?

Tomorrow we're touring the National Mall in Washington, DC.  I will bring my camera, and even though the skies will be cloudy, I hope to have some pictures to share.

I hope you all are having a great weekend.

So did you survive having your crazy Mom there for the weekend?????????? I miss her though.....and you and Caroline too! Oh and Craig and your Dad and of course Laura - we need to get that girl married so we can all get together :)

Yes, we survived. But you know how wild my mom is; it was hard to keep her reeled in.
We were just discussing how we need to get together again for a girl's weekend, because who knows if Laura will ever take the plunge. I hope so! Once Craig gets back, we'll have to do that!

Looks like a fun baby shower yesterday. Baby Fia is going to have lots of warm quilts!
