Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Caroline and I just finished reading this. I'm not sure why, but I've never read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before, so it was fun to read it to Caroline. That Mr. Wonka is an eccentric man.
Crochet
At the end of the school year Caroline and her friends started crocheting with their fingers. Their goal was to beat the world record for the longest length of crocheted yarn. I believe the world record is somewhere in the vicinity of the length of a football field, so needless to say, they had their work cut out for them. The girls worked diligently for a few days, but lost sight of their goal pretty quickly. Anyway, one day at the pool, I finished my book and had nothing to do. There was a ball of yarn in the pool bag (what, you don't keep yarn in your pool bag?) and I started to crochet. It was oddly soothing. I finished crocheting one big spool (is that what you call it?) of yarn last night. I just hope I'll get my name on the plaque when I earn Caroline and her friends their world record.
Chick peas
I love chick peas; they're my favorite source of protein. This picture is of the dried variety, which I happen to have cooking on the stove right now. Since Craig left, I think it's safe to assume that I've eaten my weight in chick peas.
Chocolate
Even the package is right: it's for the best life.
Chunky
And when it's called super chunk, you might be inclined to sing "She's a super chunk, super chunk. She's super chunky."
But, maybe that's just me.
Coffee
Iced coffee in the refrigerator waiting for me. I mix it with almond milk, which is extremely creamy without any adding much fat.

Circle Chains
These are homemade decorations Caroline and Bailey are constructing for Bailey's birthday party. I've discovered something about these two girls: they sure do like to start projects more than they like to finish them.
Which means that I have piles of paper scraps and half made paper chains scattered around the house. It tickles me that they make the decorations for Bailey's party, which will take place in her home, at my house.
Cruel and unusual punishment
Have you ever used one of these things? It's a foam roller that helps roll out all the kinks in your body. It works, but it's painful. Keeping my legs loose is important and this is the best way to do it. I just wish foam rolling didn't make me want to cry.
Cool, creamy, crazy good green smoothie
Green smoothies are my favorite post work out treat when the weather is warm.
Communication
Caroline and friends have been roaming the neighborhoods with their walkie-talkies in tow. They even use them to communicate when they're all in their respective houses, which is fun. However, last night one of the girls called and told Caroline to turn her walkie-talkie on at 10:30pm. Once Caroline got off the phone and told me what Rachel said, I responded with an ever classy, "uh, no way Jose." So, Caroline called Rachel back and said, "I can't use the walkie-talkie at 10:30, so how about 9:45?" And then I said something about Caroline being crazy and told her to get off the phone.
Clearance

I'm usually a from-scratch baker, but we saw these on clearance. I perused the ingredient list and didn't see any hydrogenated oil or high fructose corn syrup listed, so I bought them. However, I don't know what propylene glycol is and in the long run, I suppose it's better that way.
Cucumbers
These are shorter and fatter than the zeppelin sized cukes I acquired from my neighbor last time, but I'm sure they are just as tasty.

After all, she is the major contributing factor to my neurotic tendencies.
Actually, she's not. My mom is! However my mom's name is Nancy and that doesn't fit with the theme. I should also add, before I get myself into any trouble, that I also get my sense of humor from my lovely, good natured mom.
