Last Thursday, at the tail end of our cherry blossom excursion, we wound up in Old Town, Alexandria. It's a beautiful section of Alexandria. Rich in history and filled with street upon street of gorgeous architecture. The individual character of these homes and businesses makes our cookie cutter town house subdivision look even more non-descript and character-less than normal. Even the CVS was quaint! As we were walking, I tried my best to snap a few pictures of the beautiful store fronts. I'd love to spend a day down there, walking, enjoying the sights, stopping in a local coffee shop. I just might have to do that before school gets out...while I have the chance.
Most of these pictures were taken hastily, as we were walking, as to not slow down the rest of our traveling group, so I suppose they're not of the best quality.
Nevertheless, here's a glimpse:
It's hard to see in the last picture, but I find the type of tree in the picture to be quite captivating. I wish I knew what type of tree is it; my limited knowledge of trees and anything green that requires sunlight and water to grow is well...limited. I'd google it, but I don't even know where to start. Somehow, I doubt Google would appreciate "tree with pinkish-purple flowers that are sort of cup shaped" as search requirements.
After the Easter egg hunt on Saturday, when Caroline and I were recharging at Starbucks, we saw the same tree in front of the store.
And last, but certainly not least in this hodge podge picture post are two pictures Craig sent. I don't talk much about where he is and I certainly don't talk about what he's doing. But that's mostly because I don't know what he's doing. Which, I suppose is probably all for the best. Anyway, I still won't mention specifics, but after you see the pictures you'll be able to form an educated guess. Besides, if you've paid any attention to the news in the past, oh, 8 years or so, you'll figure it out.
Now then, please excuse me while I go bury my head in the sand.

Love all the pics, even the ones from Craig! At least they have it posted in English too, cause if it was only arabic, we'd be in trouble.
